Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of CompeteAI, the DECA practice platform. Please read them carefully — they explain how billing, eligibility, and acceptable use work on the Service.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using CompeteAI (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and CompeteAI.

2. The service

CompeteAI provides AI-assisted DECA cluster-exam practice, roleplay grading, and study analytics. The Service is delivered through our web application at competeai.app and is provided on an as-available basis. Features, pricing, and content may evolve over time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 13 require verifiable parental or guardian consent before signing up. By registering, you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.

4. Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us at maestro.committee@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscription billing

Pro is $19.99/month. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until canceled. You may cancel from your account settings at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

No refunds. Past charges are non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, unused tests, or accidental renewals. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to (a) scrape, crawl, or bulk-download Service content; (b) share, resell, or redistribute your account or its outputs; (c) use the Service to cheat on a live DECA event, exam, or any other proctored assessment; or (d) attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or interfere with the Service. Violations may result in immediate termination without refund.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including all questions, rubrics, software, and design, is owned by CompeteAI and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g., your roleplay responses). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the Service to you.

8. Disclaimers

CompeteAI is an educational tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by DECA Inc. References to DECA events, clusters, and performance indicators are for educational alignment only. The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CompeteAI’s aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost competition placements or scoring outcomes.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
